Journal Round The World Challenge

Starting in January 2023 we have been engaged in a Journal Round the World challenge, whereby groups of our members start a junk journal with three/four signatures and then pass the journal to another member of the group to decorate the first signature. When that is completed, the journal is sent to the next member of the group, who completes the second signature etc. until, when there is only one signature left, the journal is returned to the originator, who completes and keeps it.

Originally, I thought this project would be completed in three months and the aim was to finish all the journals by the end of March 2023, but life gets in the way of good intentions and, as I write, we are nearly into October and some of the journals are still not finished.

However, yesterday I received the first set of photos from Victoria PL and I am very pleased to post them here for you all to see:-

I think they are very good and I can't wait to see the others. I'm sure there will be lots of different styles to come :)

I have not posted much here for a couple of years owing to the lack of interest in the Blog, but live in hope  that this will change.

Our current challenge is to make a recipe journal :)

Five Elements Challenge

We have two challenges going on in May, this year (2021).  This one is the Five Elements Challenge, in which we send each other five elements to incorporate into a junk journal page. In this video I show my first set of elements and how I used them to complete a page arrangements in a botanical journal I am making.

The challenge was suggested by Henriette after she watched a video on YouTube by Luise Henzel. It looked like fun so we adopted the idea into our group. I am hoping to add other videos and pictures from our members as they come along.

Punk Reation sent five elements to Judith.  Here is what she designed:-

Here is the second set of elements, which I received from Lisa: Lisa sent me some interesting elements, the most difficult one of which for me to  create with was the dark grey plastic plaid faux material. Once I decided what to do with it, I was off and away with it and enjoyed the whole process:

These are the five elements that Ann sent to Henriette. It will be interesting to see what she does with them!

Sueann gifted these five elements to Carrol B.

This is my third 'five element challenge'. These elements were given to me by Kate :)

Amy sent me some interesting pieces, which I considered part of a 'college' theme. Here is the result:-

This five element page is called Pretty Cottage:

Video of first Collaboration Junk Journal - March 2021

This is the first video, showing the work of our ladies for the collaboration journal.  I think you will agree that the pages are just lovely.  So much work has gone into making these, ready for the first draw on April 6th 2021.  Unfortunately, the draw is only open to the participants, this time.

Junk Journal Page Collaboration - January - March 2021

Happy New Year everyone.

Admin has been looking at something special to start this year off and here is our first offering.

We are asking ALL the members to make a journal page in their favourite style. These pages will all be sent to
Stella Jones
. Stella will then organize the pages into a journal or journals depending on the number of pages received. When the journal or journals are completed there will be a draw from all who participated and the winner or winners will get the journal (s).

1. All pages must be A4 or 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 (standard copy paper folded).
2. They must be received by Stella by the end of March.
3. The winner or winners are responsible for the postage to get it to you.
4. Only those who have participated are eligible to win.
5. Please sign your page & county your from.
We hope that this will be fun for the entire group and I’m sure Stella will share the pages with us as she receives them. Any questions or concerns please ask.
Looking forward to seeing all your amazing talent.

To enter into the collaboration you must be part of the Junk Journal Penpal Group on Facebook.
